French designer Christine Dior\'s \"new look\" was re-celebrated at a new exhibition at the Royal Museum of Ontario, which lasted until March 18.
More than 100 objects from Dior\'s 10 years aheadfeminine post-WWII designs (circa 1947-1957)—
Including 38 dresses donated by Toronto socialites to ROM\'s permanent fashion and textile collection over the years --
Make up an impressive display that also includes jewelry, shoes, perfumes, photos, magazines and movies from the classic fashion era.
\"Christian Dior\'s house is 70-years-
This year is old, \"said Dr. , senior curator of the exhibition.
Alexandra Palmer
\"They have to do something right in order to be sustainable.
Christine Dior opened in 1947 and made suggestions for later designwar world.
So he wanted to create a fashion that he thought made women after the war look and feel like women and worked.
Because if you don\'t wear Christian Dior, which is affordable for very few women, then you\'re definitely wearing a style that\'s influenced by Christian Dior.
\"One of the interesting things about Dior\'s ROM exhibition, he died of a heart attack on 1957 at the age of 52, and the lily in the valley is his signature\" lucky flower \", he actually sewed a dry flower on the hem of each dress worn by a premium custom model.
\"He is very superstitious, so he always wears the little branches of the Lily of the valley,\" Palmer said . \".
\"He has a lot of superstition.
He wrote a lot about his own concerns.
\"In the end, Dior\" set all the standards and ideas that the House will continue to work until today, \"Palmer said. \".
\"I think these costumes attract people because it\'s a romantic past,\" she added in the lottery at the exhibition . \".
\"These photos from photographers in their 50 s flooded US.
This is a style we can understand.
From the perspective of evening dresses and clothes, they are still relevant designs.
Some you can even wear today.
They are very modern and Dior is very conscious in making clothes for a new world and modern woman, although he uses things like bodice and plays according to 18th-century ideas and romantic past.
His ingenuity combines history with modern ideas.
